Fenghuang (Chinese: 鳳凰) character concept I've done for 23. International Festival of Comics and Games 2012 [link] art contest, lead by Manga Corner [link]
I'm incredibly proud to say that it won one of two special awards
The contest theme was designing superhero or supervillain in manga style. I wanted to do a fire super power character, but somewhere along the initial sketches, idea to draw more asian inspired outfit appeared... and this is how it ended.
I'm still not sure wheter she's a superhero or villainess.

I really like this. Is she meant to be a humanization of the mythical Fenghuang, or was that just the inspiration for her?
